Kaplan University Online serves approximately 35,000 students in over 200 degrees and programs around the world. It also has 45,000 students on traditional campuses. Well over half of all students at KU older than 30, compared with 17 percent for 4-year public institutions. Women comprise 75 percent of the student population. Just over half of all students are pursuing a bachelor’s degree. And 38 percent are pursuing an associate degree.
Military Students and Veterans
KU Online is a military-friendly educational organization. Active military students are 5 percent of the student population, while 7 percent are military veterans and 2 percent are spouses of active-duty servicemembers. There is a 55 percent tuition reduction for active military personnel and reservists. Veterans get a 38 percent tuition reduction; and spouses of active duty military personnel get a 10 percent reduction for all undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
